Who we are

We are a team of Internet optimists aiming to “Flip the Internet.” Why? The Internet is upside-down—corporations and entities have control over people’s data instead of the individuals who should rightfully own it and be in charge.

Our innovative, patent pending technology puts people first, and makes it possible for developers to build apps for consumers and businesses that will create the Internet we all want.

We are different from many companies in that we are a self-directed, flat organization. You will find yourself leading your own projects and working with topics that you love.

If this sounds like you, apply! This internship is remote. You are free to apply regardless of your time zone, but we ask that you have at least 2 hours of overlap with the Pacific Standard Time workday (9 AM – 5 PM PST) as well as a reliable internet connection.

Opportunities

Software Internship

As a Software Intern, you will have the choice of applying your skills where your interests lie. One day you may be writing code for your fun ‘Choose your own adventure’ project, and the next day you may choose to write tests for our core software. Every intern will be matched with a peer mentor in the company to guide them along the way.

Do not be afraid to apply, even if you do not have any prior experience in software development.

Some skills you may see yourself developing and applying during the internship:

Create and improve new or existing mobile/desktop applications in Dart/Flutter
Explore IoT devices and microcontroller development in Micropython, C/C++, and more. Embedded development experience is a plus.
Write unit tests in our core SDKs (Java/Dart)
Maintain open-source repositories using Git/GitHub
UI/UX application development using tools of your choice, like Figma or Canva
Run workshops, participate in hackathons, and conduct outreach to other universities and communities to support Atsign’s mission
Developer operations, work with servers, work with raw atProtocol
Produce technical educational content through videos and writing technical documentation

Marketing Internship

As a Marketing Intern, you will have the choice of applying your skills where your interests lie. One day you may be creating beautiful designs, and the next day you may be organizing grassroot events. Every intern will be matched with an assigned peer mentor in the company to guide them along the way. Do not be afraid to apply, even if you do not have any prior experience in marketing.

Some skills you may see yourself developing and applying during the internship:

Graphics and video content creation (YouTube)
Social media marketing and management (YouTube Shorts, Twitter,…)
University, business, event planning, and community outreach & management
Developer relations – working with other developers in the community
UI/UX product design for applications

Sales Internship

As a Sales Intern, you will have the choice of applying your skills where your interests lie. One day you may be conducting investor analysis and another day you may be pitching to a client. Every intern will be matched with an assigned peer mentor in the company to guide them along the way. Do not be afraid to apply, even if you do not have any prior experience in sales.

Some skills you may see yourself developing and applying during the internship:

Market & business research
Sales & leads research
Develop and deliver sales presentations and pitches
Sales lead generation
Develop and demonstrate use-case examples live
