Location: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: N200,000 – N250,000 per month.

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Fertility Nurse to join our team at Estrada International Staffing Solutions, a leading IVF clinic.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patients through their fertility journey, providing clinical care, emotional support, and education on fertility treatments.

This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of reproductive health, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities

Patient Care and Support:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing fertility treatments, including IVF, IUI, and other assisted reproductive technologies.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and ongoing monitoring during treatment cycles.
  • Administer medications, including hormone injections, and monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
  • Assist with procedures such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and intrauterine inseminations.
  • Education and Counseling:
  • Educate patients and their partners about fertility treatments, procedures, and medications.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients experiencing the challenges of infertility.
  • Offer guidance on lifestyle changes, nutrition, and wellness practices that can improve fertility outcomes.
  • Clinical Coordination:
  • Coordinate patient care with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, embryologists, and laboratory staff.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring timely and efficient flow through the clinic.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and clinic protocols.

Medication Management:

  • Educate patients on proper medication administration, potential side effects, and adherence to treatment protocols.
  • Monitor and manage patient medication regimens, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
  • Address patient concerns and questions related to medications and treatment plans.
  • Procedural Assistance:
  • Prepare patients and assist physicians during fertility procedures, ensuring patient comfort and procedural efficiency.
  • Monitor patients post-procedure and provide follow-up care and instructions.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are sterilized and prepared for procedures.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including audits and reviews, to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in fertility nursing and reproductive medicine.

Patient Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing their concerns and providing timely information throughout their treatment journey.
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients and the clinical team.
  • Provide clear and compassionate explanations of treatment plans, procedures, and test results.

Job Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; additional certifications in reproductive health or fertility nursing are a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fertility clinic or reproductive health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and fertility treatments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • High level of empathy, compassion, and emotional resilience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and clinic management software.
